Homeward Pets

If you adopted one of these kittens, please post an update on how they are doing in the comments section of one of the blog entries. We are fostering out kittens from Homeward Pets.

The Fab Four are with their Forever Families

We took the kittens back to the shelter last Friday. They all had their surgeries and were available for adoption on Saturday.
By the end of the day on Saturday, Max had gone home with a woman who had adopted cats from Homeward Pets before -- and has a cat that is 24 years old. Marvel, who stole our hearts, went home with a family with young school age kids who will, no doubt, love him as much as we did.

We thought the girls (Emmy and Smudge) were still at the shelter because their names were on the website. But, when I e-mailed today to ask if I could come visit them tomorrow, I found out they had actually gone to their Forever Homes on Sunday. Hooray for the girls. Unfortunately, we do not know anything about the homes they went to.

We HOPE the people who adopted these kitties whom we loved and cared for for a month will send us updates about how they are doing.

Farewell Baby Cats!

  1. Hi, my name is Bentli. Max is living with Andrew and me in Snohomish. We live on 1/3 acre with 3 other cats and 8 chickens (7 hens and 1 silkie bantam rooster named Mozart). Thank you for doing a great job raising this wonderful little guy. He is the most loving little man and I know its because he had wonderful foster parents that loved him up at an early age. Our other cats are Magic, 24 years old who is getting more exercise since Max came to live here, Minnie 8 years old, adopted from Homeward Pets about 4-5 years ago - she loves to eat with Max and lounge around all day and Tiger who is still warming up to Max but wonders why we needed to bring him here in the first place.

We have a big back yard that is fenced in with an 8 ft cedar fence. We have a chicken yard and coop that is fenced completely on top and sides so eagles can't get in. When I am home, I let the chickens out to run around the back yard and they run right up to our sliding glass door and peer in begging for bread,, grapes or whatever I might have for them. At first everyone was in a tither because of this new little red lion cub that was crouching on the floor ready to spring on them. Mozart was sounding the alarm for the girls to be very careful he is ready to pounce! As of today, everyone is pretty much used to Max and the hens are no longer afraid of him, they push right past Max in the doorway and make their way over to the dry cat food before I escort them back out of the house. Max is quite fascinated with the chickens, he thinks he is in Africa and the hens must surely be big game.

Minnie loves Max the most out of all the cats. Minnie was homeless with a litter of kittens before she went into a foster home and then we adopted her from Homeward Pets. Max is her little buddy, she loves him as long as he doesn't eat all the food. And let me tell you, Max eats alot! I may have to break into my retirement fund if Max keeps this up. Right now Max is on the table trying to type on the computer. I told him that cats with manners don't climb up on the table but he doesn't get it. He's so cute that I let him get away with it, I am sure he will have manners later on in life but for now he pretty much has the run of the place. Oh also, just wanted you to know that he loves his little red car, we play with it everyday, roll it up and down our hardwood hallway for him, he goes crazy with that car. It makes him so happy! Well, its evening now, were all winding down, Andrew is dishing up canned cat food, four separate bowls for each cat. This is how it goes, Max eats his kitty food and moves on to eat everyones eles's food. Life is good when your tummy is full, makes for a good purr. Thanks again foster parents, the world needs more people like you!

I was wondering, were these kittens found abandoned in a field?

  2. Thank you so much for the update! It makes us so happy to hear that Max is in a loving home and doing well with his new family - humans and animals! One of our cats really misses Max and his littermates.

We do not know a whole lot about Max's early history. We think the kittens were found in a field in Ellensburg and brought to Homeward Pets. They were with us for 4 weeks. Did you get the one-sheet paper we wrote about Max?

Again, thanks for the update. We'd love to hear more about him as he grows to adulthood. Post a picture if you can.

Give Max a pat on the belly from us. :-)
